School Year 2018/2019

School Year 2017/2018

We will be continuing on the BEAUTIFYING ONSLOW project.  It was announced by the Minstry in June that Onslow was one of the lucky receipients for some grant money that will be used towards a new playground that will be installed for the 2018/2019 school year!

School Year 2016/2017

This year we decided to do an outdoor overhaul and our main fundraising goals were set on the BEAUTIFYING ONSLOW project.  We hope to have a new play structure and soccer posts installed by June 2018.

School Year 2015/2016

We decided that we were going to do small projects as opposed to fundraising for a large project yet.  This eleviates the fundraising for parents and the community.  A little break is nice.

  • covered 1/2 the costs of the agendas
  • purchased stage lights
  • purchased 75 cotton pinnies (for trips)
  • purchased two bean bag chairs for the library
  • provided popcorn and juice to winner's of Cookie Dough sales
  • $1,500 towards the purchasing of new sporting equipment
  • a Term 2 or 3 school trip (admission and bus costs)
  • a Year End Trip
  • Grade 6 graduation donation

We have also "reserved" money for the fabrication, preparation and installation of new soccer posts in the school yard.  This will be continued at the beginning of the 2016/2017 school year.

School Year 2015/2016

Teacher's Wish List

This year, our goal was to give the teacher's an opportunity to give us a list of supplies needed for their classrooms and school.  We were able to purchase a new 27" laminator with trolley, a 30" parachute, 4 new chairs and removeable covers for the library, new reading books for the classrooms and new sports jerseys for sporting events.   You can see these in the PHOTOS section.

Alongside the purchases, we also contributed to the school agendas, a Grade 6  Graduation award, provided bus transportation and admission to Cosmic Adventures, the History Museum and the Year End Trip to Saunder's Farm.  We also donated food and time and put on a Christmas dinner for the staff and students.  Once again this year, the Quyon Lionettes have generously donated half of the duck race raffle ticket prize money which will be put towards next year's activities and purchases.
